My mother has taken a rather laidback role in the wedding but as the days draw closer, she has finally assumed the duties of the bride's mother!
On Sunday she phoned me to confirm she'll be getting the Double Happiness stickers, brew the longan tea, organise our temple visit in the morning and order some Lao Po Bing (Wives' Cookies) for R to bring to my house on the day of Guo Da Li (Delivery of Betrothal Gifts).
This will be on Saturday, Mid-Autumn's Festival. R will have to present some money, two Mandarin oranges, one cake and the Lao Bo Bing, to my mother and grandmother. In addition, we have prepared some traditional Welshcakes.
